Activity: Painting with markers and coffee filter

Atividade: Pintura com marcadores e filtro de café

At the beginning of our virtual village, we explored colours with children and the different surfaces for painting. Children started by drawing on paper using markers. Exploring other lines, dots, whatever they want. Afterwards, &#38;nbsp;when the paper is full of children's doodles, they use a &#38;nbsp;glass of water or a water spray and spill it.

No início da nossa aldeia virtual, exploramos as cores com as crianças e as diferentes superfícies para pintar. As crianças começaram desenhando no papel usando marcadores. Explorando outras linhas, pontos, o que quisessem. Depois, quando o papel está cheio de rabiscos infantis, eles usam um copo de água ou um spray de água e espalham.

This activity explores the senses through smell, texture, and colour. Children can perceive different designs using coffee powder and water by imprinting coffee powder in water.Children could feel the coffee texture while using their fingers to draw besides colour the paper and their body and consequently smell and taste it.


Esta atividade procura explorar os sentidos através do cheiro, da textura e da cor. Usando pó de café e água, as crianças podem perceber diferentes desenhos imprimindo pó de café na água.As crianças puderam sentir a textura do café enquanto usavam os dedos para desenhar, além de colorir o papel e o corpo e, consequentemente, cheirá-lo e saboreá-lo.

Homemade Play-Doh Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup of flour
¼ cup of saltOne teaspoon of oil
One packet of juice powder or food colouring
⅔ cup of water
Method of preparation:
Mix the flour, salt, and Tang juice powder. Boil the water and add the oil to the water.Put a little water on the dry ingredients and mix with a spoon or hand. Continue adding water little by little and continue kneading until the colour is uniform and the clay is soft like Play-Doh.

Receita de massinha caseira
Ingredientes:
1 xícara de farinha
¼ xícara de sal
Uma colher de chá de óleo
Um pacote de suco em pó ou corante alimentar
⅔ xícara de água
Método de preparação:Misture a farinha, o sal e o pó de suco de Tang. Ferva a água e adicione o óleo à água. Coloque um pouco de água sobre os ingredientes secos e misture com uma colher ou com a mão. Continue adicionando água aos poucos e continue amassando até que a cor fique uniforme e a massa fique macia como massinha.


Everyone knows how kids love play-dough and a mess. So nothing better than bringing the two together when producing their play-dough. Children can work out texture and weight through the different ingredients used, in addition to fine motor skills and spatial notions when throwing the ingredients into the bowl and mixing. Visual perception is also crucial since mixing the components, the texture and the colour of this mixture can change.

Todo mundo sabe como as crianças adoram massinha e bagunça. Então nada melhor do que juntar os dois na hora de produzir sua massinha. As crianças podem trabalhar textura e peso através dos diferentes ingredientes utilizados, além de habilidades motoras finas e noções espaciais ao jogar os ingredientes na tigela e misturar. A percepção visual também é crucial, pois a mistura dos componentes, a textura e a cor dessa mistura podem mudar.</description>

Pedagogical practices are an essential part of learning so that they occur effectively; the student needs to stop seeing the educational process as individualised, restricted only to their knowledge. The educator's vision must include the social relations of the school, the school structure and the reality of the students.At a time when consumerism and utilitarianism contribute to the "atrophy" of sensitivity, the study of art can be a way to train the senses, refine the taste, in short, better understand human nature itself.


As práticas pedagógicas são uma parte importante da aprendizagem para que ocorram de forma eficaz, o aluno precisa deixar de ver o processo educacional como algo individualizado, que se restringe apenas ao seu conhecimento. A visão do educador deve incluir as relações sociais da escola, a estrutura escolar e a realidade dos alunos. Numa época em que o consumismo e o utilitarismo contribuem para a “atrofia” da sensibilidade, o estudo da arte pode ser uma forma de treinar os sentidos, apurar o gosto, enfim, compreender melhor a própria natureza humana.

Visually literate students develop an acute sense of the language of the arts (music, drama, dance and visual arts) when reading a work of art. Culture is part of all that visual information that we are bombarded with daily through TV, newspapers, magazines and the internet. It is a right of every citizen, a democratic act, as we live in a society of images.


Alunos alfabetizados visualmente para desenvolver um senso crítico da linguagem das artes (música, teatro, dança e artes visuais) ao ler uma obra de arte. Esse é um direito de todo cidadão, um ato democrático, pois vivemos em uma sociedade de imagens. A cultura faz parte de toda aquela informação visual que somos bombardeados diariamente através da TV, jornais, revistas e internet.

From the moulds of their bodies, students created their characters inspired by various children's stories, dressing them and personalizing them with natural elements. Through this activity of drawing the shape of their body and the other, children could work on the notion of the self and the other and the spatial idea, body parts, creativity, and cultural repertoire.
A partir dos moldes de seus corpos, os alunos criaram seus personagens inspirados em diversas histórias infantis, vestindo-os e personalizando-os com elementos naturais. Por meio dessa atividade de desenhar a forma de seu corpo e do outro, as crianças puderam trabalhar a noção de si e do outro e a ideia espacial, partes do corpo, criatividade e repertório cultural.</description>

Insect footprints

Atividade: Pegadas de insetos


This activity brought the artist Regina Silveira as a visual reference. She has a series of black images of insects of various sizes spread across walls, floors, and other surfaces in different exhibition spaces. From the images of insects presented by the artist, &#38;nbsp;students were challenged to produce footprints imitating movements made by insects and using white paper and black ink for that. After the impressions were dry, students could build compositions with them in any space of their houses. They worked with positive and negative space, spatial notion, and creativity, connecting with their reality and expanding their cultural repertoire.
Essa atividade trouxe a artista Regina Silveira como referência visual. Ela tem uma série de imagens pretas de insetos de vários tamanhos espalhados por paredes, pisos e outras superfícies em diferentes espaços expositivos.A partir das imagens de insetos apresentadas pelo artista, os alunos foram desafiados a produzir pegadas imitando movimentos feitos por insetos e utilizando papel branco e tinta preta para isso. Depois que as impressões estavam secas, os alunos podiam construir composições com elas em qualquer espaço de suas casas. Trabalharam com espaço positivo e negativo, noção espacial e criatividade, conectando-se com sua realidade e ampliando seu repertório cultural.

Students were introduced to the interactive and challenging artwork by Brazilian artist Lygia Clark. As the artist deals with simple materials in everyday use, such as matchboxes, I proposed to the students to create an interactive artwork with what they had available at home.

Os alunos foram apresentados à obra interativa e desafiadora da artista brasileira Lygia Clark. Como a artista lida com materiais simples de uso cotidiano, como caixas de fósforos, propus aos alunos a criação de uma obra interativa com o que eles tinham disponível em casa.

Students talked about the number of symbols and colours we have around us and how they communicate something. They looked at where they lived and selected objects with different characters, colours, and shapes (symbols of clothing brands, sculptures, paintings, etc.). Afterwards, they were challenged to choose a place to make their composition thinking about some basic art principles: rhythm, harmony, balance, contrast, movement, proportion, and variety.

Os alunos falaram sobre o número de símbolos e cores que temos ao nosso redor e como eles comunicam algo. Eles olharam para onde moravam e selecionaram objetos com diferentes personagens, cores e formas (símbolos de marcas de roupas, esculturas, pinturas etc.). Em seguida, eles foram desafiados a escolher um lugar para fazer sua composição pensando em alguns princípios básicos da arte: ritmo, harmonia, equilíbrio, contraste, movimento, proporção e variedade.

Students were challenged to express some of the basic principles of art (rhythm, harmony, balance, contrast, movement, proportion, and variety) through colour, tone, and texture. They had to think about the composition using the three elements mentioned above to convey rhythm, harmony, balance, etc.

Os alunos foram desafiados a expressar alguns dos princípios básicos da arte (ritmo, harmonia, equilíbrio, contraste, movimento, proporção e variedade) através da cor, tom e textura. Eles tiveram que pensar na composição usando os três elementos mencionados acima para transmitir ritmo, harmonia, equilíbrio etc.</description>

At this time, students were challenged to produce their self-portraits using different materials. They had as a visual reference the artworks made by the artist and educator Hanoch Piven. He caricatures celebrities with a variety of media. What is most interesting about his work is that he uses objects to construct the person's face that has a connection with his profession and personality traits.

Nesse momento, os alunos foram desafiados a produzir seus autorretratos utilizando diferentes materiais. Eles tiveram como referência visual as obras do artista e educador Hanoch Piven. Ele caricatura celebridades com uma variedade de mídias. O mais interessante de seu trabalho é que ele usa objetos para construir o rosto da pessoa que tem ligação com sua profissão e traços de personalidade.

During our Festa Junina week, we decided to work with the crucial cultural aspects of our country. In addition to addressing how it occurs in Brazil, we also discussed some similarities with cultural characteristics from other countries. This activity resulted in the students' construction of a scarecrow as a June character.
Durante a nossa semana da Festa Junina, decidimos trabalhar com os aspectos culturais cruciais do nosso país. Além de abordar como isso ocorre no Brasil, também discutimos algumas semelhanças com características culturais de outros países. Essa atividade resultou na construção, pelos alunos, de um espantalho como personagem de junho.</description>
